Freestyle Music Park, Myrtle Beach, SC August, 2009.

On 8-8-09 Janis and I visited Freestyle Music Park in Myrtle Beach, SC.  This is the former park known as Hard Rock Park.  (HRP)   HRP only last 3/4s of one season before closing, but lucky for us park enthusiasts a new owner bought the park the following spring and reopened it and renamed it Freestyle Music Park.  

The crowds are fairly light so I hope the new owners can make a profit and keep the park open for years to come. 

They have five roller coasters and with those five coaster credits I was finally able to ride my 300th different roller coaster!

Coasters at this park are,

1.  Iron Horse  (mine train style coaster)

2.  Soak'D  (water suspended coaster)

3.  Hang Ten (Vekoma roller skater coaster)

4.  Round About (a very strange coaster with a ferris style lift hill *one of a kind lift*)

5.  The Time Machine (B&M sitdown looper, and my 300th!)

The park also has a few flat or spinning rides and a nightly fireworks display themed and timed with rock music.  Food and merchandise are decent prices as far as amusement parks go.  The price to get in isn't bad either, there is always some kind of "deal" going on, just check out their webpage at www.freestylemusicpark.com .
